The Zorki-5 comes in two versions. The first one with a square rangefinder window and Industar-50 both collapsible and rigid lens. The second version is very similar to the Zorki-6. With a round rangefinder window and Industar-50 f3.5/50mm lens. It's interesting to mention, that famous KOMETA camera (never was produced in series) initially had ZORKI-5 name!!!

1st version

PM1905. An earliest so far known version of Zorki-5 camera. Body covered in green synthetic leather. Strap lugs on body. Wavy shutter release knob.

PM1910. Camera identical to PM1905, but covered in regular black synthetic leather. Wavy shutter release knob (see picture below). Tight "arrow" symbol engraved underneath synchro contact (see picture below). Appr. 5000 cameras released in 1958. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5800640 (A.Nikitin coll.).
 

PM1910 - Zorki-5  #5804381.

PM1915. Almost identical to PM1910, but with slightly wider name engravings (see picture below). Appr. 5000 copies released in 1958. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5805491 (Molotok 2012).

PM1915 - Zorki-5  #5805623.

PM1920. camera identical to PM1915, but the "arrow" symbol underneath the synchro contact is more extensive now (see picture below). Less than 2000 copies released in 1958. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5810824.

PM1925. Never seen before rare export version of the particular camera. An additional screw for horizontal finder adjustment on the frontplate. No more "flash-lamp" and "arrow" symbols underneath the synchro contacts. Never happened to see one alive. Not discounting the possibility of beeing counterfeit.

PM1925 - Zorki-5 (export) camera.

PM1930. Camera identical to PM1920, but with new design of shutter release knob already (see picture below). Less than 25000 copies released in 1958. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5812027 (eBay 2012).

PM1930 - Zorki-5  #5816726.

PM1935. An ultra rare experimental Zorki-5 with selftimer on the frontplate (!). Covered in regular black synthetic leather. No otherwise different from PM1930. One real sample was shown on Dalnomer.ru Forums few years ago.




PM1940. Camera identical to PM1930, but covered in black vulcanite already (see picture opposite). Appr. 25000 copies released in 1958 (some serial numbers are mixed with PM1930). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5834380 (Molotok 2010).

PM1943. An extremely rare experimental version of Zorki-5 camera with round RF window, therefore adjustable from the exterior of the camera (see picture opposite). Covered in black synthetic leather. Only very few real samples are known to exist. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5839811 (eBay 2004).



PM1945. An extremely rare camera identical to PM1943, but covered in black vulcanite. Only very few real samples are known to exist. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5840737 (A.Nikitin coll.).

2nd version

PM1950. Different form of the top plate mouldings, round rangefinder's window and the metal screwed nameplate in Cyrillic characters. Covered in black synthetic leather. Some cameras have an adiitional "SDELANO B CCCP" engravings on the rearplate. Late samples have 8-digits serial number (prefix "580" or "590"). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #5859509 (Allegro 2011).

PM1955. Camera identical to PM1950, but covered in black vulcanite. Some cameras have an adiitional "SDELANO B CCCP" engravings on the rearplate. Late samples have 8-digits serial number. Investigated camera has s/n #59028850 (SovietCams).

PM1965. Camera identical to PM1950, but with new serial numbers coding system already. All cameras have prefix "589" now. KMZ logotype on the rearplate is bigger size. Less than 55000 copies released in 1958 (together with PM1970). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #58910641 (eBay 2012).
